themes in the scenes -Wednesday 12th March 2015

The main events

The main events we covered in this lesson was the captin flirting with philomele to show this elenie had to put on a flirtational voice, this shows the audience that philomele has fell for the captin.
iris could scenes  something bad was going to happen as all he kept on repeating was "procne" this shows that iris wanted to say something but there was hesitation there.
near the end of this scene the captin starts falling for philomele and you can see this as the captin start speaking more to philomele and going with what ever she was saying and agreeing.
however we find out also towards the end of this scene that Nobe starts scensing what going to happen and she trys to warm philomole.

In this part of the scene we were showed places to stand and this shows the audienece that we are children watching a play as where we stand we act like we are watching the play as well as being in it.
In the script there is one main bit that stands out for example when philomele says "listen to the chorus the playwright always speaks through the chorus, this comes across as an internal reference and shows the audience that there is more to what this is saying.
also in the play tereus lies, he lies mostly to get his own way, he makes procne feel guilty of her sisters death. This shows terus is evil In many other ways too.
Also makes her feel like "is this real"  what I mean by this is terus shows different ways it could have been her fault but really all he is doing is making her feel really guilty.
When terreus rapes philomele everyone acts really scared but also they go with what he says, as he makes them think, is this just him, has he done this because she  had done something wrong, makes use think as actors did tereus think this was ok to do ? ...

through out the play we use different facial expressions this shows our characters persona, and by use doing this it shows the audiene what are character is really like.
However I do think I could improve by making my facial expression abit more expressive as my character (shows off) and for the audience to recognise this I have to exaggerate my movments and voice, for my voice I would have to use an exaggerated one as by doing this it will show that im going over the top and that I take everything too serious and make it sound even worse.

  1. Your posts are a little disorganised. Try to group ideas together and use clear headings to show what point you are trying to make.
Key spelling errors - "scenes" should be "sense" and "Captin" is "Captain".
You also need to be careful about using capital letters for names such as Tereus and Niobe.

You have made some reference to the way that the themes come across in these scenes, but you need to try to make these ideas much clearer. In Look Back in Anger you will really need to keep more detailed notes about the sessions that we have in the drama studio so that you can write about them and evaluate them.
